RetailSystem.com expands North American reach – Firm names Jesse Akre President
CHARLOTTE — RetailSystem.com, an Internet company offering back-end management systems for furniture retailers in the U.K., Europe and Australia, is looking to increase its North American presence. To that end the company recently named industry veteran Jesse Akre President of RetailSystem North America.
Akre was most recently with Amber Engine, a digital data management company as their Chief Revenue Officer, and prior to that worked for web development and technology solutions provider MicroD.
“RetailSystem offers an affordable option since it is cloud-based and can be used with Google Chrome or Safari. We want to bring this option to furniture retailers in the U.S., Canada and Mexico,” said Akre.
The RetailSystem software includes point-of-sale, customer relationship management, sales order management, inventory management, purchasing, receiving, reporting and data-driven dashboard applications. “With the online accounting package, all financial data is exchanged in real time and is immediately available for management reporting or tax calculation,” said Akre.
The software links with most eCommerce platforms such as Magento, Open Cart, Shopify and BigCommerce via API. It allows retailers to dynamically display multiple prices, product dimensions and order tracking as well as offering HTML descriptions including product images and the ability to add custom fields, such as availability by store. The software company has more than 850 retail clients worldwide with 8,600 users in the home furnishings industry, including Francis Furniture in Ohio, Riley’s Furniture in Oregon, Houseproud Furnishings Limited and FW Homestores in the U.K.
